How to choose a good Bully vet

I haven't read all the responses yet but wanted to just put in my experience real quick.
I consulted my vet prior to even purchasing an EB. He was instrumental in our decision to get this breed and I wanted to be sure that he and his associates had experience with EB problems and were able to handle them, where I live we don't have alot of choices close by. I have had a great experience so far however Bear is only 8 months so time will tell.
I have been "interviewing" kennels too for when we go on vacation, that is a huge concern of mine and part of the reason we haven't planned any retreats yet.

I am trying to just be blunt and ask the vet if they have a lot of EB dogs that they currently treat. THat is not rude is it?
I struggle with vacations as well. My Fila Brasileiro just hates everyone. I thought this was great when we got him because I travel a lot and he keeps my wife and kids safe while I am gone. The only problem is my wife and I cannot go on vacation together. lol My wife, me, and kids are the only people that can touch him. We are really wanting to go somewhere but cannot figure out what to do with him. Crazy!!!

That's a good, complicated question.
I will offer this, from my experience:
Vets on the recommended lists are not infallible. Some of them (my opinion from experience) shouldn't be practicing.
Never let your guard down with your bully's health. Don't stray from your instinct and a 2nd opinion is always an option (in my case added quite a bit of time to my bully's life).
After an awful experience with a vet, my strategy was to find a smart (Cornell, etc. educated), well trained (abreast of bully ailments and maladies:revealed through inquiry), and most importantly resourceful (knows their limits and has a good relationship with the best specialists).
I was succesful, but think some higher power was looking out for me.
