it sounds like some type of allergy to me.. Our Duke has allergies and we keep them at bay after allergy testing etc..
just last week we went on vacation.. came home and he scratched a hole in his neck! took him to the vet.. it could be a million things.. they gave him some powder to put on them and shaved the area.. they did also tell us it may have been stress. if he keeps scratching I would take him to the vet. he is probably scratching them because they get very dry before they heal..
    Hang in there..

Is he getting the benadryl 3 times a day (1mg per 1lb of bully) it will make him sleepy and make it itch less. Is it still healing?

Poor Dozer. It looks so sore. Hope everything clears up soon and the mystery is solved so he feels better soon. Learning a lot about allergies - seems they can cause all sorts of terrible skin conditions. And stress is pretty hard on our Bullies. They are for the most part a pretty sensitive breed.

so every time its about to heal he will just scratch all the wounds open again. We have tried some anti itch stuff and it doesnt seem to deter him at all.

I think you may want to try a cone, at least until you can get it under control. He won't be happy but it will keep him from rubbing his face raw
