Thank you so much. I did look it up and it indicated that it is found in female dogs. We are in the process of making an appointment with a specialist. He seems to be in no pain and does seem to be moving in the right direction. We are keeping our fingers crosses and appreciate the information. Thanks again.
Just checking to see how Silas is doing? Hope the meds are working!

meds are working but now hes back to square one with housebrreaking UGHHHHHHH....gotta start all over again, he pees all over and in his crate but he feels great thank god!! thanks for asking!!! hope these meds kill this infection for good
proud owner of a baby boy bully named Silas!!!!
As you say, a rough start for all...hopefully once this infection is all cleared up
there'll be no other problems and these difficulties will be forgotten.
Silas may not have had a chance to strengthen his bladder muscles and/or may
be regressing a bit. Be patient & loving, never use his crate (his safe place) as
punishment, he sounds very smart and will 'get it' soon. Hang in there, Hun!

RIP beloved boy.
Glad to hear things are getting better. Nate has also been doing better on his meds. Thanks for the additional information. We are planning to take him to a specialist for further testing. He has been doing much better with his leaking and holding it longer. Our vet feels that He will progress with his development and is not convinced that there is anything serious wrong. We are having his UTI rechecked. We were very frustrated, but Nate is by far the best dog we have ever had. He is wonderful with my 9 year old son. We are planning on doing whatever we have to. Hang in there and keep us updated, as we will do the same.
I have had UTIs and I don't wish them on my worst enemy. This also reminded me of something horrible that happened to our family pet when I was a kid. Our collie was mIs diagnosed with a uti whe she actually had a uterus infection. (she died) Awesome you are getting these tests done to make sure. You 2 are in my thoughts...

I battle a uti for about 2 months. Did your vet do a full urine culture with sensitivity testing? This is the best way to actually identify the bacteria and find the correct meds. He is still young so it is tricky what meds he can have that was the issue I had. Duchess was so young they couldn't give her the meds they knew would knock it out. Hopefully the blood test one back negative. Good luck
