That is outrageous! I live in Alberta, and my vet has done them for $50-$100, but only if it is being done with a neuter or a spay, other than that I think it would be in the $300 to $400 range. Glad you found a good vet, at a reasonable price, and that your baby girl is doing well. :clap2:

Hi volhok, can you contact me with this vets name? I'm having the exact problem you're having. They see a bulldog walk in the door and they see money signs.

Thanks,
Cory

Hi, I had my female Blossoms eyes repaired at my vet in Mississauga, Ontario, and she charged us $900. She did a great job, and we are very happy with the results. I am not sure what the average is, or what the norm is, as I did not shop around or ask other vets what their charges were, I just went with my vet, and her experience, as I like her, and I trust her. It may be that vets in more remote areas or further away from big cities have lower vet fees, than the bigger cities like Toronto or Mississauga. It would be worth it the 3 hour drive to London if it was a significantly lower fee, and if it was was for non emergency surgeries such as cherry eye, but if you had a emergency or an accident that required immediate surgery, you would want a vet that was closer to home.

The vet that did Stig's cherry eye surgery was reasonably priced. It was around the $400 range, which was great since they were recommended by the CKC. They're in Campbellford in the Guelph area. They were very knowledgeable and sees a lot of bulldogs. We did a follow-up after the surgery with concerns that Stiggy's eyelid was still swollen, and they didn't charge us for the visit, even for the ointment that they gave! A couple of days later, his eye looked brand new!

Sure no problem, I take my guys to Heartland Animal Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. There are 3 women doctors, who are all really good, but for surgeries, we use Dr. Susan Simmons, as she is the senior vet, and she has over 24 years of experience. She has perfected her own technique for cherry eye surgery, and has a very high success rate. We are very happy with the job she did on Blossoms eyes, they were operated on 21 months ago, and we never had any issues since, and no complications post surgery. Blossoms eyes are beautiful, and you would never know she had surgery on her eyes.

There is another excellent bulldog vet in Guelph, she owns bullies as well. Her name is Renee Fleming. I'm in Toronto, so I use the animal clinic and the VEC. Our surgeries (tooth extraction and elongated palate) were done at the VEC.

The one that I normally use is East York Animal Clinic, which Dr. McCutcheon. He doesn't specialize in bullies, but knows his holistic remedies well.

The one that did Stig's cherry eye surgery was Brookville Veterinary Clinic. They see a lot of bulldogs and their care is top-notch. I was impressed with how much they knew about the breed.
