Lola is doing well! She was very happy to see me and was going a little nuts! Now we are home and she is worn out! Here she is resting with her pillow she had when she was a puppy although its not the original it is one just like it.
So glad to hear she's doing well. I'm wondering about the cone too? I mean, bullies can't exactly get to their private bits so is there another reason for the cone?
sarah just got fixed last year and i did not put a cone on her. i think several here have had it done and no cone but im no expert. im so glad she is home and doing well. we worry so about our babies. i had a vet tech get snippy with me when i was worried bout sarah getting spayed years ago when i tried to have her fixed but i didnt care.
HRH never attempted to lick down there...still never does. So we didn't use the cone longer than about 10 minutes. She was just too miserable with it on.
Lola can reach a little bit a her girl part not the whole thing and she cant touch her incision at all because its up a little higher and she just cant bend enough. She has been leaving it alone so far!
Cone free zone at my house , and never ever had an issue . My policy is if they don't try to get at the incision why put a cone on them. I wouldn't want one either, you just can't get comfortable
Lola's is very tight around her neck and I dont like that! I can only fir the tip of one finger under the rim and her skin is just bunched up all around it so I worry about her airway.
We only used a cone because of the eye surgery at the same time, that being said we are back in the cone because he scratched his cornea. Anyhow, you should be able to adjust the width. If you do continue to use it I highly suggest trimming the cone part down. We have Gunny's trimmed to just past his face.
