well..if you keep up and Pickle the paws twice a day for a few days... BUT make sure you wash all of their bedding too... if you get a yeast colony growning there, you'll never kill it off w/out washing it.

Pickle a few days, and wash bedding a twice in a week usually clears up Gizmo's yeastie beasties. :)

I tried to pickle Otis's paws a few weeks ago and it was like wrestling a grizzly bear. Doug and I fought him all over the kitchen. He hates for anything to touch his feet. I am planning to try the ACV and praying it works because he surely does smell like Frito's sometimes.

Pharmaseb shampoo is a great shampoo to fight yeast if its all over the body. Suds it up and let it sit for 10 mins, rinse and repeat. 5 mins the second time because the pores should be nice and exposed by now. Pickle the paws too. Malacetic ultra in all cracks, pockets, wrinkles and crevaces. Look under the paw pad too, paw lickers get nasty yeast and bacteria under there. If you have a female don't forget her girly bits. Once you have it under control you can switch to malacetic otic or witch hazel, less powerful. I use both white vinegar and acv, even a tiny splash on their food if they won't drink it. Clean surfaces (floors, crate, bowls) with a 50/50 vinegar water mix to kill bacteria and yeast, unless you have a steam cleaner. Repeat the shampooing after a few days to ensure you got it all. Good luck!

And yes, antibiotics kill good bacteria as well as bad bacteria. It tends to cause yeast problems if used long term.
