Welcome to the site...... I would be terrified too.... I never heard of this before outside of the extra tissue and pallet.

Please keep us posted on her progress.

Hugs and prayers to Bella and you

Oh my, I hope she is okay... I have never heard of that issue before. Maybe it is scar tissue from a blotched surgery? Please keep us posted on her progress.... Hope surgery to remove the tissue goes smoothly.

Bellababy1 I just got word of this, I have never heard of such a thing and it sounds as though the vet hasn't either. Please comeback and post and update on this. I would also do some research on Google if I were you. I would insist on a
x-ray at least. How old is she?

I haven't heard of this either, must be from a botched surgery maybe. I hope the surgery today will help. Please keep us posted.

Ok update on Bella's breathing spells, she's not any better the vet went in to remove the swollen tissue, well to find was it was badly calcified and he believes it's a possible start of cancer😰 which only was to know for sure is biopsy, well for now we have her on 20mg of pred everyday, I brought her home today : week later: and she's the same u don't see what is causing her to gasp and lose air when she's excited and drinks, eats, etc, cuz now the vets basically just give her the best time I can with the time she has, I want answers and I don't know what to do she's had it all done and the x- ray doc said with what he seen he's pretty sure that whats blocking airway is the tissue he can't remove with out possible laser, which means I'd have to find a special place which I can not afford. So if u guys have any thought I'm open thank u.

Oh my GOD.... this is horrible! Go to the specialist they may let you do payments and also contact the breeder as you should of had a health contract/clause.

2BullyMama she rescued this bully... I don't think there is a breeder to contact. I am so sad to hear this, did you get her from a Rescue or from another family?

I'm so sad to hear this. To have had her such a short time doesn't diminish the feelings you have for her. Do you by any chance have a veterinary school near you? Often they offer less expensive treatment options and are up on the latest treatments. I'm so sorry.

I am so sorry to hear this. And I agree that this surely must have been the best thing. A dog cannot sustain any kind of quality of life with their tongue turning blue when they simply get a drink. Eventually, the lack of oxygen would have caused other issues.

The folks that rehomed her with you should be...well, I think folks here know what I'm thinking.....
