Ugh this morning was rough. Some reason he pooed on the bed, actually the pillows and stepped in it!!! Took him outside he pooed again then went and sulked for at least 30mins. I cleaned the floors took the bedding off went to put them in the wash and guess what I forgot I had no laundry soap!!! Ugh. Jeff will be home in about an hr and I can start them before work. The bedroom stinks All windows are open trying to get the house aired out by 730. Not sure how that's gonna pan out. Why did this have to happen today when the appraiser is coming at 4 and I won't be coming home for lunch ugh!!!!

Well not sure why he did this last time he had the stomach bug and it was just on his blankie at the foot of the bed. 2nd time in a month. Should I be worried.

Poor Lex and poor you. What a lot to take in and deal with all at once! You are both in my thoughts.

Like Vicaroo1000 said, maybe his medicine is upsetting his stomach?

Well lex was in good spirits today at lunch wanted to play some. When I got home from work he walked up to me like he used to and wagged his little stub and booty :) that right there made my day. He played in several spurts with Libby and bo tonght. He was laying down playin so he didn't over do it. We are curled up in bed and both are passed out. So it's been a good day considering :)

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. We are Gonna need lots and lots so keep them coming. I will update tomorrow it'll be later in the evening won't be coming home at lunch :( having a secretary lunchin at olive garden. Yummmm

so sweet.. glad you got your cuddle time!!!! keep us posted

He only gave us vetprofin which he has had before. I was thinking maybe the anesthesia?

It could be the anesthetic but it could also be behavioral. Linus is a big proponent of crapping somewhere he's not supposed to (and he's fully housetrained) when he's not feeling well. It's his S.O.S. signal. That and moping since he rarely exhibits signs of outward illness.

Poor Lex. :( It sounds like you have a lot going on but any way to move that apt with the specialist up?

Hang in there...

@lexterwayne How's Lex? I know you said you were meeting with the specialist on the 11th, any updates?

sorry guys i usually get on tapatalk and it doesnt show and mentions :(

well i called the vet on the 11th and the specialist ended up doing 2 knee surgeries instead of one on a dog and he was running for an appointment about a hr away so he didnt get a chance to look at them. They asked me if i wanted them to send off to radiology and for a 2nd opinion so we did. Vet called me 2 days ago and told me that he sent the x-rays to a specialist in dallas. the specialist also said lex didnt have any hips and of course he couldnt tell about his knees cause he would have to see him in person to plapate is knees, which i totally understand. the specialist in dallas said that if he did the surgery he would not do the tplo that he would do whats called extra capsular surgery, and the healing time isnt so extensive like the tplo but its at least 3 months each knee. he would not want to do the tplo surgery due to his hips and dont want him putting all his weight on one side with no hips and a bad knee. Which Jeff and I have talked alot about this as well and we feel doing surgery is going to be a very rough recovery for him and dont want to put him through that. if it was one knee i think it would be different since he would at least have a good knee to stand on.

so what we are going to do is limit his play, trying to get him to lose his last 5 lbs is a pain!!! and we have him one pain meds which is vetprohen once a day and tramadol 3 times a day. so far everything is going well we have been having good and bad days. i made a little heat pad for him and at night we apply heat to his hips and knee's and he just falls right to sleep :)

lexterwayne this sounds exactly like what my puppy Katara is experiencing, they told me it was luxating patella, but it might be a torn acl since the way she walks sounds exactly like you described in your first post. I need to find a orthopedic specialist in this area to rule out torn ligaments. I will be following this thread closely, I hope Lex has many more good days than bad..
