Wow, I feel for you and Cooper. A lot of us have been down this road and I'm still on it. Although I do have him on the right food it's the environmental allergies (grass and weeds) I battle. After increasing Wilsons Benadryl it has been much better now. He gets probiotics, flaxseed oil, and some other things and his coat is so thick and healthy but it's his paws that I have to worry about. I seem to have it under control with that hibiclens wash (I got it at Target but you have to go to the pharmacy and ask for it as it is not in the general aisle) and then an antiseptic spray I got from the vet. He also gets optimmune ointment for one of his eyes and the other I just use moisturizing eyedrops because his eyes get red with the allergies. But you know we just got to Keep on Truckin' for our bulldogs even if it hurts the pocketbook.

Thank you! I will look into that stuff also. I am willing to try anything. i thought about sock for him because I am pretty sure grass is one of his big allergies and I don't know if that is what is causing the toe issues or not.... you should have saw my hubbies face when I said I was going to get him socks  I think he thinks I am crazy. I think I would go broke trying to get my Cooper healthy. I regretted after I got Cooper that i hadn't gotten a bully long before now. But at this point it is probably a good thing cause I would not be able to have afford all these vet bills 5-6 years ago. I am trying to talk the hubby into letting me foster bullies but it is a work in progress.... We will see but I really do want too!! :) I am probably going to be trying to have another skin baby soon so it might have to wait. But I just love bullies so much and my Cooper has just stolen my heart....and gracie has too :). I care and love these bullies more than I could have imagined!

I got a little mad at coop the other night. He bit my 2 year old and I know it was probably my 2 year olds fault cuz he is rough but Cooper bit him pretty good and pretty hard on the arm and punctured with all four fang teeth and it was black and blue. I have never had a dog bite any of my kids and I have had a lot of dogs. My other dog I trust completely that he would never bite any of my kids regardless of how rough they get. But with coops sore butt and everything I dunno if my son hit him or hit is but with something but he did bite him. I yelled and him and put him in the kennel so he pouted. Right after he bit my son he chewed on his antler like he did nothing wrong. he is such a lover so I am saying this is my fault and I need to keep better eye on my son when he is around coop. I tell him all the time to leave cooper alone and stop being so rough. Maybe he will learn from the bite to leave him alone. I let Coop outside after he was put in kennel for 5 minutes and he was still pouting outside. It is so funny to me that he is so emotional and gets his feelings hurt so easily. SO then of course I felt bad and was giving him loveys,

Cooper11 Glad the new vet is working out! It took us 3 months before getting Brutus to find the right vet! I called at least 20 diff vets...I still have some worries with our vet so anything serious we take the 1 hr drive to the Specialist Hospital... Its more money but its sooo worth it in the end!

I am beginning to think Cooper is just 1 big problem. I noticed at the vet yesterday he was shedding bad but my mom said so was Gracie so I am assuming tis the season of shedding.... Well I just took cooper out to brush him and I was getting so much hair off.... it was like falling out but I had noticed he had a big red spot on his back. He has bald spots on his back now and no its not from me brushing to hard. There is something wrong. I dunno if it is mange, allergic reaction to something, or what. It is red and bumpy looking I think it resembles mange. He got his culture back from his toes and they said there were too many bacteria that showed up to even list them all. He gave me an antibiotic today but I haven't gave it to him yet. I just got it picked up an hour ago. He got a steroid shot and 2 antibiotic shots yesterday ..... do you think it is a reaction???? I am going to call vet tomorrow. His toes look very good they redness is almost gone but @gunnyboy told me gunnys would go away fro 3 weeks after steroid shot and then return.... ugh I don't know what more else I can do. Seem like one thing after another. what does alopecia look like...is it red or just bad spots???

Is the spot oozing and pussy?

No red and kinda flakey or acne looking.......i am uploading a video cuz the pic was hard to see and the video its hard to see too. But I can tell he will be losing more hair cuz the redness goes up into his neck and where the red is, is where he is going bald.

I would have asked the vet for a skin scraping to test... Have they done that yet???? A picture would be good if you can get one! If its oozing or pussy I would say they are hot spots...

The video shows it better than the pic did.... he was going to scrap the scabby things on his back and I can't remember if he did... I think he didn't cuz I said with the benedryl they were getting better so he said that was good. They scraped his toes and did the culture and show lots of bacteria. I think he is having a reaction to one of the shots... I bet if I would take him out and brush him more (im not going to) but I bet if I did his upper neck all the way to that spot would be bald! You can see the redness when I list his fur up and it is spotty and very red... way redder than the video shows. He doesn't seem to be in pain...

I have hydrocortisone cream and Animax (from the vet) should I put one of those on it or neosporin???

I dont know if that could be a reaction the shots he got yesterday! Im thinking not but you never know! I would have the vet do a skin scrape just to find out! Thats the only way to be sure...It should be done soon b/c if its something like mange it could get worse..I doubt it is but the only way to tell is a skin scrape! It doesnt look like hotspots either..Poor Cooper! Its been one thing after another for him!

:) Thank You Christine... I just messaged Snook and told her I was going to use that. I am calling vet in the morning and I am sure he will squeeze him in.... it doesn't smell but I can see it is all over his upper back and neck and I am sure spreading....could he get hives from one of the antibiotics. I just gave him keflex too that is what they gave be today for his toe infection

Not sure, but anyone/dog can be allergic to anything. One of my brothers and a sister are allergic to penicillin. Everything else about him is fine/normal?

Yes everything is normal. I actually can tell he feels better and his toes look so much better from the steroid shot. I was amazed at how quickly it worked. I only give him the fromm and his normal veggies and apples for treats. Only thing different is I gave him his heart worm last night and that he is shedding so bed. But I dunno if it that he is shedding or if he is actually losing his fur. It looks bad and even my 7 year old was like mom whats from with Coopers back. I can tell it is spreading and it is so red. I hope it is not mange. It doesn't smell or anything and I hope its not contagious cuz he is sleeping with us (hes my baby so I can't make him sleep in kennel :) ) and him and Gracie played a lot tonight so I hope she doesn't get it if it is..... Other than that I can't think of any changes I have made that would cause it other than the shots. I didn't give him benedryl the last 2 days and when I was I noticed the red scabby things were going away....I dunno why his skin is doing this I hope it is allergies. i feel bad for my baby. Thanks Christine xoxoxoxoxo
