When I first got Watson, I went to the BCA website as well to find my vet and he is very good. I think all the vets on the list are nominated by the members of BCA.

As for the hotspot, @2BullyMama gave you good advice. Watson gets them occasionally and this is what I have to do to them until they heal. If they are bad enough, you may need a round of antibiotics. It is usually from a staph infection. Watson was given Keflex for 3 weeks at one time. Watson is mainly from food allergies and we are still trying to find the perfect food for him.

A so called VET said he was a "deformed Monster?" what kind of monster is he??? Our new vet is OK, he is educated and deals with many bully's. He does say they are a breed of their own. BUT not in a bad way. I would have not been so nice and told him what an as* he was. Good Luck finding a new vet, it took me a while when mine retired but we did find a new vet.

Yes call around! I also found a lady who lived close to me that had purchased a bully from the same breeder and asked her what vet she used..... I stuck with my same old same old vet I had used for years and then Coop got sick so I went to the one she recommended. I was very happy with him. Although I don't think we will ever be extremely happy with any vet because no vet is perfect enough for our unique babies. SO yes it is hard to find a great vet but you look around and I am sure you will find a good one! You are lucky you found this site because everyone on here has helped me more thn the vet ever did with Coopers problems and I didn't have to empty my pockets for them. Vet got paid for nothing! But I do still like him and I will continue to take Cooper to him. Instead of 7 miles away I have to drive 40 miles to this new vet witch isn't bad and def worth it!

And the new vet has 3 employees of his who have English Bulldogs and are from the same breeder as my Cooper!

@caseyh also ..... I know @cowsmom said the taste of the wild is great dog food! But yes I would wonder about allergies too. I have the malacetic ultra I put on Cooper.... i think he had a little hot spot on his belly that was there for awhile til I put that stuff on it and it was gone in a matter of days..... But there are more people on here that know more about the hot spots and hives and all that other skin stuff more than I do! Good Momma knowing that you need to get your bully away from this vet! I am so tired of rude vets!!!! My old vet I still like them but I would get a different doc every time I went and they all say different things. Finally I was like ya know I think I know more about this breed than you do and if that is the case I need to go somewhere else! When he is telling my puppy is on the chunkier side and I am looking at him like really cause I talk to most of the parents of his litter mates and he is about the same or lighter than him......Bullies are thick! Sometimes I think they just want to get you in and out as quick as they can and sell you as much as they can!

What an a$$! Def wouldn't go back to him. Agree with the rest...from allergies prob. Found out Bubbas was from allergic reaction to flea bites. They blew up in a matter of a few days! He gave him a steroid shot and antibiotics because the one in his face got infected fast!...from scratching. It's been a week and still getting over them!

I had a vet react to my first bulldog in a similar way. It happens - and you take your business elsewhere. I "Yelp" about my negative and positive experiences and my review of my first bullie's vet has garnered him many new customers - which he deserves. If you were near me, you'd go see Dr. Terry Beatty and think you'd gone to heaven.

Can I suggest that you call your local EB Rescue and ask them who they use? The vet that Cascade Bulldog Rescue uses (Dr. Pam) is lovely and wonderful and a real advocate for the breed. Surely there's someone like this in your area? Good luck with your search!

That is absolutely ridiculous. I would have been furious!!!
I've heard several vets say mean things about bulldogs. Needless to say, I don't go back to them.

any vet who would say something like this does not deserve to be in a position of healing animals. a complaint to the vetrinary association is in order. this person should be blacklisted.
