Does anyone know of a vet in the Toledo Ohio area who specializes or atleast has done successful tail amputations? I am hoping to avoid the
procedure altogether, but if the infections under Maxs tail continue to worsen and come more frequently I may have to look into it. Truly my last resort. And also does anyone know the cost for the procedure. A rough estimate atleast.

Thank you

Gale

Hi Gale...I should have included this in my last post, but we're located in Tallahassee, FL and our tail amp procedure, including pre- and post-op care, was less than $500. Again, our vet is a bulldog specialist and does them on a routine basis, so I think that's why he is not as expensive as others. I've read people posting that they've been quoted a couple thousand.

Did you check our veterinarian recommendation page! Maybe..just maybe you might get lucky..or maybe contact a bulldog rescue that services your area and see who they might recommend!

not in toledo but animal clinic northview in north ridgeville(about 2 hours away) is a very accomplshed bulldog vet clinic. they have all specialists on staff and they are reasonable for vet costs. Ive had my bitty there multiple times for many things and she has always gotten great care. they understand the bulldog and its special needs. I probably see no less than six bulldogs there every time i go in.

not sure if this is helpful but if you are interested respond and i can post their number for you.

Home this is there website. they are very bulldog experienced and will save you money where they can. things like offering perscriptions to pharmacy when its a human drug and charging a much lower rate for followup xrays. they have 24 hr care. I have used many vets with my last dog, and i wish i had learned about this group oong ago. i GUESS THE BIGGEST THING IS I DONT FEEL LIKE IM GETTING FLEECED BY THEM.

Gale Hello i'm from the Toledo area and we take our Bullie to South Suburban over at Levis Commons. Dr. Eisenhower is who we use and before we got our max we checked all around for the best vet we could find for him. And we found her there Max loves her and i highly recommend her.
