Hello from Dallas. New EBD mom.

I've had Tank a few months now and I've fallen madly in love. A coworker asked a group of us if anyone wanted a bulldog. She said the owner was on her way to the pound with one. I said omg I do!! I've had all kinds of dogs all my life. But not an EBD. I asked why were they getting rid of him. She said he pushed their daughter down. I was so upset I told her to tell them to bring him to me right now! It was love at first site. Omg he is the sweetest baby. They said he's 4. But I think he's older. I dont think they ever took him to the vet. So, now he's up on all his shots and was fixed.
Please teach me how to make him live forever. :-)

Hi and WELCOME!!! You will find tons of great advice in here. You can always ask your questions or that search button top right will have mostly all your questions answered. The most important thing for you to do is find out what type of food he was eating. Since you never owned an EB you will basically need to watch what you feed him. If it’s kibbles you want to go with, we suggest to stick with Acana, Fromm, Zignature and other high end GRAIN FREE kibbles. A lot of us feeds our dogs frozen raw. Raw diet = barely any issues like allergies which EB are prone to. I prefer Acana the one protein bag. But do ask what he was fed as it’s important. 99% of us will tell you “never” feed Royal Canin, Science Hill or anything that’s made from Purina n them other crappy dog food. It’s all grains which you’ll have issues guaranteed. . Also if there’s a way you can find out when he got his last shots. You don’t want to over med him as that’s dangerous. If you don’t have an answer from the previous owners, I personally would wait a year for any shots. Simply don’t go to dog parks or doggy day care etc, a dog won’t die cause he/she didn’t get their shots. I wouldn’t risk overdosing him if you’re not sure. That’s me...

Oh how lucky is he to have you ( and YOU him!!). There is no greater love than bulldog love! That second picture speaks volumes of how he loves you!! Once you own ( or should I say, YOU are owned) by a bulldog, there is no return! Can't wait to see more pictures of him!!
