Hello. We are about to receive our first EBD. We currently have a 10-week old female Siberian Husky, and in about a week, are picking up a female EBD.

The one that came up to me, followed me everywhere, and never left my side, on two distinct visits to the breeder, was a brindle male (the only male), who was the smallest, but by no means a runt. However, the Sire's owner is keeping him, so he is off limits and not for sale. Otherwise, it would not be a contest. Although he was the smallest and the thinnest, and although the breeder said he was born with hid legs bowed (but they no longer are), he had immediate chemistry.

Among the rest, we were between the three attached, all female:

The all-white: She was the first that came up to each of us, when we visited, but spent little time with each person, before moving on t o the next member of the family. My daughter liked her the most because she spent the most time with her, on her second visit. Breeder says she is the leader of the pack, although she is not the biggest nor the second biggest, and maybe not even the third biggest.

The Piebald: She was the third to come up (the male was the second). She immediately got on her back for me to rub her belly, then went to my wife and put her head on top of my wife's crossed legs on the floor to cuddle. After that, the all-white and the brindle got on top of the piebald to also cuddle with my wife.

The Bindle: She was the fourth to come up to us, so a little more timid, also got on her back for me to rub her belly, and kind of hung out and chased me around as well. Visually, she was the prettiest to us, though seems to still run a little goofy, and trips, and falls on her face a lot on one of her front legs, yet runs and plays perfectly well at other moments. She also has a lot of loose skin, which looks cute, but I am not sure if that is good or bad.

We had a very tough choice - so much so that we put down a deposit and the breeder offered to let us change our mind while the others are still available.

Based on the pictures and on the above, what should we have chosen? I can then reveal what we DID choose!

All of them!! They are all cuties. I love the piebalds! Louie is a piebald with an all white face. The brindle is adorable. They’re all adorable! At this point, it might be good to go based on personality and the best fit for your Husky.

Yeah we think so too on the brindle, but my daughter likes the all-white one, and my son likes the piebald). Regarding personalities, it was hard to tell. The male for sure, but because he isn't an option, and after a while the mostly all hung out, it's hard to say. Not sure if with the Husky it is better to take a shy one, or an outgoing one or the leader of the pack.

Technically, we already chose one, but we are allowed to change our pick as long as others are still available.

Upon our first visit, while shipping around, we had our minds set on the brindle female, because she looked most like the male and is visually stunning, even more so in person. However, we went shopping around because we really wanted a male, since the Husky is female. But because these had such good chemistry and were clearly much better taken care of and beautiful (all of them) we opted to forego the male and get a female, as long as it was from this litter.

So far, we put a deposit on the brindle female, with the understanding that if the male were to become available (since the owner of the sire wasn't sure if she was keeping it or selling it), we would be offered it, or we could pick one of the other females if we want, while available.

So guess what, we JUST got a call that the male IS available! He will be a few hundred more. Now my wife says she has already gotten used to the idea of the female and had bought EVERYTHING purple....what do you guys think?

Look at the male below.

Welcome to EBN!! Congrats on your new baby.... I want them ALL!!! OMG... so hard to pick!

I do have a very soft spot for 'freckled' babies so i may have gravitated to her

Oh GOSH... I would take them all. But I agree w/Christine... it might work best to get the male.

Definitely the male - since he bonded with you first. Also, the Husky will probably get along better with a male. I know that my girls got along better with Mickey, my male, than each other.
