I put the crate out and I let Jewel inspect and detect the crate. A couple days later I put a couple of toys in there. Jewel also had access to water 24 7. The crate is a safe place.

Hi and welcome 
I didn't do 'crate training per saY (or however that is spelled) but I did small gated area type thing so don't have info for you... I do know that others in all dog fields say that if done right, dogs LOVE their crates so hope you get what ya need for info here. Be sure to ask more if need be enjoy your new babie... such a wonderful breed
