I've never had a litter of puppies from a bulldog mother, so I have no idea how much a c-section would cost. If everything goes well, the puppies should nurse from their mom until they are weaned to puppy food. When I had a litter of boxer puppies, though, we had 9 puppies so we supplemented with formula some, just to help out. There are other members here who have had puppies that would be way more knowledgeable than me. Hopefully they will chime in here.

I don't know what to say about your being unprepared to take care of a litter of puppies. I guess you have about a month to figure out what to do, but you will have to make some kind of arrangements for their care. That could mean friends coming in to help while you are working, or some responsible family members at home with Cookie and pups all the time. Maybe you could talk to your vet about options--don't wait unil the last minute though. When my boxer had her litter, I took two months off of work and I was lucky to be able to do that.

I'll see if I can tag some other members here to read this thread and respond. By the way, Cookie is a beautiful girl. And welcome to EBN!
Yes i will sure have someone one take care of them because i myself do not have the time due to work or am just gonna have to pay someone to take care of them am sure i can find someone.

Thanks for the helpful info

Totally looks pregnant and you may be closer to 3 weeks away. She is a beauty! I have never seen bulldog pug mixes but don't worry about that right now.

Read and research and get ready ASAP

She sure looks like she's pregnant to me. I agree that you should get ready for puppies by learning everything you can. Bulldog puppies are way more work than other puppies and usually cost more in vet bills than other puppies. Sometimes bitches who are not bred during their heat cycle develop a false pregnancy wherein they make milk and act different as you have described. So best to follow the vet's advice and take her back to be rechecked to see if she's pregnant for sure. My guess is yes. If she does have puppies, get ready to give them around the clock care for several weeks. It is a LOT of work, like APRILmari said. Josebulldog89

Yes it does look like a lot of work i will have to pay someone to help me because i just do not have the time.

Thanks for the help

Josebulldog89, where are you located? Pasadena, CA or TX?

I was just wondering what resources you may have in the area and if you have checked into the cost of birthing and caring for these puppies? My concern is that you take responsibility for all of the lives involved with a pregnant Bulldog and the babies since your Cookie has an unplanned and inexperienced pregnancy. If you think you cannot handle this, you might want to see if there is a Bulldog Rescue in your area to help.

Ask you vet if it's not too late to abort the pregnancy, but from the looks of it, it is too late. You never ever leave a bitch in heat out of your sight for one second.

David, the same thing (abortion) crossed my mind, but I know that's a sensitive topic.

I'll tell you one thing, I'm super glad I decided to spay Bella...accidents like this are very costly, I'm seeing.

porkchop, abbey, gucci and rocky,
i have had two litters.. it depends on the vet you take her to... where i live a few of the vets did not do planned c-sections and one would only do a c-section if it was an emergency... one litter cost me $1200.00. but the second litter was much less because i took her somewhere else... but like the others said.. be prepared for round the clock care and watching for at least the first week.
. my first bulldog woke up from c-section and growled at puppies because she did not understand that they were her puppies, naturally because she did not remember giving birth to them... so i was up all night making her feed them rubbing their little butts in her face so they peed on her.. sounds gross but she had to know they were hers... by morning she realized it and was a great mother.. she was licking them all over but still had to watch her for the next week around the clock to make sure she didn't sit on them.. (she did a few times but didnt understand what was happening).. once she realized this also she understood that whinning meant got get off of me.. lol..
believe me it wasnt easy but i had help from our breeder and she told me i could take pups away from her but no more then 4 -6 hours at a time if i couldnt be there to watch after them.. but i was afraid to because i didnt want the mom to forget they were hers.. so my husband and i took turns, he would watch while i slept and i would while he slept.. ..
i suggest you read up and get prepared.. but thats is how my experience with ours.. she had seven.. i litter trained them a t 4 weeks and it was so much easier.. and doing it that early is easy, cleaning up after 7 pups even with mommy helping is a big job.. i suggest to everyone to do it.. makes that one less job to worry about.. good luck.. keep us informed.

porkchop, abbey, gucci and rocky,
again,, if you dont know the exact due date, im assuming not, because you dont know the exact date of conception, then get a close idea and start taking her temperature..I took ours on her last week before her planned c-section day and night and recorded it.. when her temperature started dropping you know its almost time..
will you be having another x-ray soon? maybe vet will give you and idea about when to schedule a c-section ..

I hope all goes well, if i can help with any questions you can message me.. good luck.. i wanna see those pups.. isn't that what some call a miniature bulldog?
