Hello EBN!

I've been a lurker for some time now on the forums, but haven't yet posted. My name is Nic, and below are my two beautiful bullies. We hail from Utah (near Salt Lake City)

Oakley - Born 2/5/2013 - While he is now 15 months old, he's not fully grown just yet. He's what you would call a "Fit" bully. No fat on this bubba! Well.... not yet...

Georgia - Born 9/22/2012 - Georgia is the opposite of Oakley. He is energetic, she is your standard lazy bulldog that can very easily pack on the pounds. My wife lives for this cute little ball of joy!

Figured I would finally say hello and introduce the pups! Unfortunately, I don't get the chance to log-in and checkup on here as often as I would like, but I will start to make the effort! I am a raw feeder (and have been on past dogs), so I am happy to share my experiences or knowledge there. I've done years of studying on it prior to making the jump a few years ago; and I'd fully recommend it to anyone wanting to take the plunge. I promise, your bully will thank you :)

:welcome2: to EBN!!! Your bullies are adorable… :luv: We would also LOVE to hear your advice on the raw feeding. Many members choose raw for their bullies, I have never done it but I have a new puppy and I'm considering it since allergies are so common w/these guys. Do you give raw patties or make the food yourself?!!

:welcome3:Hi Nic and welcome to EBN, so glad you joined us. You'll love it on this site, lots of great information and lots of great people to share advice, experience, stories, and pictures. We loooove pictures on here. Lol. Your babies are gorgeous, I also have two EB, siblings, they are two years old now, and their names are Bulldozer and Blossom. I think everyone should have at least two EB's. I would have a 100 if I could. Lol. My guys are the opposite of yours in personality, my Dozer is the laid back guy, and by laid back I mean lazy, he is skittish of everything including his own shadow, he likes to sleep, he definitely doesn't like to walk, but he's the biggest cuddle muffin ever. His sister Blossom is the Diva, the Boss, and full of energy, she will walk forever, and she is also a big suck. She loves her tummy rubs. Looking forward to seeing more of you and your babies on here, and seeing more pictures.

Thanks again everyone! Great to visit around see everyone else's cute bullies too!
ddnene - I've never done the patties and always make my own. Georgia is a 'gulper' by nature (always has been) and struggles at times with swallowing larger bones, so I usually grind any chicken that is fed to them (it's their primary protein source). However, they also get the other goodies with no grinding; their favorites being tripe, any beef in general, elk, venison and turkey. As I mentioned, I'm always happy to share any raw feeding successes or knowledge. I'll have to scope out the raw feeding threads and see if I can offer some input :) From a bulldog standpoint, I feel that raw is definitely a nice benefit. It's unfortunate, but we have a sensitive breed (even those that are well bred are still sensitive to a lot of things). Their coats are always really nice, never have to get a teeth cleaning, weight is easy to control and best of all - No farting!!

Side story - Georgia had to get an emergency spay this last weekend (she had Pyometra for those familiar with what that is). I was super bummed as she was looking to be a good candidate to give us some lovely Georgia pups; but the best for her health was to do the spay rather than treat the pyo. Anyhow, our vet's office gave her food the next morning. It was "sensitive stomach" kibble as we weren't able to take them her raw food the next morning, given that the vet's office is about an hour from our house (he's a bulldog specialist, owner and bully breeder - we lucked out!). So... Georgia eats a tiny bit of their kibble, and holy heavens, the wife was ready to get rid of her because her gas was soooooo bad!! I've never smelled gas that bad out of anything, and it was coming from my sweet little bully :( Sorry for the TMI, but had to share ;)

Welcome to the site, and you have some beautiful babies. So happy you discovered the pyro early enough, to get her spayed, before it got too bad. We had one of our girls get it and we were wanting to breed her one more time, but when she got it, it was no question, but to spay her. Her health was more important to us.
