Thanks again for all the positive reinforcement! After concluding my research, I have decided to get and Olde English Bulldogge. My decision was based on the fact that I need a more active companion that can take the heat a little bit better, go to the beach, on the boat, and can go with me just about everywhere I go. I would still prefer the bolder, broader look of the English Bulldog, but I believe the Olde would more suit my lifestyle. I'm going to pick him up tomorrow and I will be sure to post a picture in the appropriate section. Thanks for all the support!
Welcome, Mark! I have found that one of the best ways to find a good breeder is to go to dog shows and talk to the people who are there with the dogs. I keep an open mind and see which dogs i like and then talk to the breeders if they are there. The handlers will also give you good information about breeders. You are smart to do your homework. Good luck with your search!
