Relocation

Hello- i am relocating from San Juan Puerto Rico to the Washington, DC area. As many of you already may know. It is close to impossible to transport your English Bulldog except for driving anymore. The problem i am having ( and it is a HUGE problem) is that as of December 2011- most if not all airlines no longer will transport English Bulldogs. Does anyone have any idea about how to get him to as close as Miami from Puerto Rico and i will drive wherever i need to go to get him. I have tried carriers and everything. I can't seem to find anything!

have you check Face Book out, maybe someone can help you there. I know a group that does what they call a train where volunteer's drive part way until the transport is made. I think its called Bulldog Train

Where are you moving to DC? I live right in DC. Let me know if you want a good name for a vet. We love our vet and she is a bulldog specialist! Good luck with your move. Sorry I can't help with the transportation question!

I have no idea what the cost would be but might be worth looking into?

From what I can tell, the problem with flying comes into play when you're shipping a bully. If you take him on the plane with you you should be able to fly. Heck, worst case, see if you can by him a passenger seat. He'll need to be crated of course. Call the airline ticketing desk, NOT cargo and see what they have to say.

Good News---- and THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH ALL OF YOU for kind words and help, i have never been involved in anything like this but i do know that i didn't want to ever be without my dog so whatever it took!!!! Thanks to BULLDOGS4ME.... i got in touch with someone in Atlanta who did all the research and knew someone in San Juan and Tank will be getting transported from San Juan to Miami and we will not have to re mortage the house!!!! Now i just need to set up from Miami on o fly and make the drive b ut regardless this will all be able to happen!
