Great article. It is so true that they are like skin babies. My husband always wonders why we didn't get a low maintenance breed. Our last two dogs were pugs, which are high maintenance too.

Fantastic article Lisa!! I think you covered pretty much everything ,i still advise first time dog owners to reed books including books on puppies as its very informative
I agree bulldogs are so much like humans ,i dont think there is another breed like it xxxx

You really nailed it Lisa. I read and read and researched before I got Dudley...it helped, but it's not the same as the EXPERIENCE. I never had children - and I won't say it's the same thing - but I do feel like I have maybe a sense of what it's like having Dudley! He's so special and loving...and snoring like a champ on the couch next to me!

ditto to what DudleysMom said. We don't have kids either, we've also never had dogs before so having Blue is quite the experience.
My vet once said, any other breed is a breeze after owning a bullie. I believe it.

Wonderful article Lisa… I have owned many dogs in my life, and english bulldogs are so very attuned to their human family. It's uncanny… They truly do become your soulmate
