Is there a harness out there that we can purchase that will grow with Gunner? He's 22 lbs right now and pretty thick, I'd like to have it for walks as he pulls on his leash. We have a Sporn but it's just fits him weird.
It was given to us. I don't like it so well.
I'd like to find a heavier one that will last more than a few weeks at this point!
TIA!

I can't remember when we bought the one for Banks, but we still use it as necessary ....the Easy-walker, prevents pulling and it works

I don't use a harness for Lola. Just a flat buckle collar. One rule I have had with her since she was a puppy is that she never goes through a door, or gate first or ahead of me unless I tell her its ok. I also don't let her pull me. If she starts to pull I stop still and let her pull until she sits and then let the leash relax so she delivers the reward to herself.. (Don't pop the collar as a correction because it can trigger more pulling behaviors. ) Eventually you shape loo leash walking behaviors because pup gets to go and meet more people. Always praise generously for good loose leash behaviors. The first couple minutes I think all dogs tend to pull because of exctement to go walking. Don't reward that behavior by letting them pull you.

A trick that I learned in rally was to use a treat to help lola stay at close heel. (Her canine cocaine is string cheese.)

Loose leash walking at heel is probably the single hardest skill for you and your dog to master. Remember to ask yourself:

"Am I walking the dog or is he/she walking me?"

It takes a lot of patience to teach your dog but stick with it because you are building a partnership. Eventually you develop an understanding that following you as the leader keeps me (the dog) safe and happy.

I got a "Field Trails" harness for Jovi and i LOVE it. I happened to come by it at tj maxx for only 10 dollars and its the ugly camo type color. So I went online to try and find a pink one and I cannot find the brand for the life of me!! I feel like I got the only one in the world :w00t:

Do you make her sit as you go through the door or does she just wait for you? I am trying to teach my puppy I always go through first but im not sure if I should make her sit and wait or if its ok if she just stands and waits for me to tell her to come in.

I couldn't find a good link with a picture, some have a full front and some are just nylon straps.... BUT...
Could it be called Cruising Companion? I searched and tried googling different things, and this kind is sold at TJMaxx and other places too! Just wondered if that might be it :)
