Help!!! Meatball is chewing wood paneling on walls!!!

Bruin & Lilly used to chew on the cabinets...the corners on the bottom 2 drawers are completely gone. Tried bitter spray, tried deoderant (b/c I think that's what someone else here tried b/c their bullies liked the bitter yuck)....nothing worked. They would sneak and do it while we were home too. Off to the crate. They eventually became to big for 1 crate (they like sleeping on top of each other), so we bought one of those exercise pens and they love it. Sooo my rambling point...maybe get a pen if you feel bad putting him in the crate.
