One of our kind foster mommas picked up this wounded Bulldog at the Arlington shelter
We took "Duke" (now named Grit) straight to our vet's office, where he required surgery. The vet, Dr. Whitworth, believes the gaping wound in his neck was caused by another dog(s). He could have been used as a bait dog. We apologize for some of these graphic photos, but this is the reality of rescue.
Even after enduring all this, Grit seems to be a sweet boy. Dr. Whitworth thinks he's about 5 years old.
Grit will continue recuperating through the weekend at our vet's office. He then will be placed in a loving foster home so his behavior can be fully evaluated.
Our fingers are crossed that he makes a full recovery and we can find him a wonderful new home, with a family that will always protect and love him. He deserves that.
