Has anyone ever experienced the following. My 7 month old Stella was completely fine until this morning and all day today. I noticed when she was eating she was making a big mess with her food. I know sometimes they eat so fast that food is spilt outside bowl but this was different. She would put food in her mouth but couldn't seem to eat properly most of it was on the floor then I noticed when she ate her tongue was off to the side hence all the food on floor and not being able to eat properly. Does anyone know whats going on?

Could it be oral dysphagia? Does she have a longer tongue? It could also be Macroglossia. She hasnā€™t shown any previous signs before of difficulty? Iā€™m not too experienced with this, but maybe others can help bullmama oscarmayer anatess helsonwheels Cbrugs 2BullyMama

Hi no her tongue isn't long and this just came out of the blue. I will look into your suggestions. Its just hard for her to eat even a simple dog treat is hard for her to eat. Otherwise she is healthy and happy.

Thanks, yes Stella also makes a mess but this is amount is not normal, and i believe its due to her tongue issue that won't let her keep food in her mouth

Has anything happened recently that couldā€™ve resulted in an injury to her jaw or anything?

No not that I am aware of, i mean she does love to play fetch with balls and sticks and she loves pkaying tug war with her rope. Maybe it could have been injured playing?

Have you looked in her mouth to see if you can see any issues. Could a tooth be hurting her making her chew differently?

My Gabe has a crooked tongue and makes a terrible mess "everytime" he eats or drinks. You'll get used to the mess, just make sure you have a towel near his feeding area to wipe his face off. Have fun.

It might be an injury in the mouth, or a tooth. Take a look, or let a vet have a look.

you need to have her mouth checked, this isnā€™t normal and there could be an injury
