Hi,

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you all with respect to Stella's condition. After consulting with the vet he said her tongue issue could be 2 things and that we need to monitor it, it could be Elongated soft pallet or salivary mucocele. Has anyone experienced this with their dog?

Palate, yes, my first boy and my Frenchie had the surgery without issue and it cleared up some problems

I’ve never heard of an Elongated soft pallet in pups. It’s very rare.

A salivary mucocele is usually trauma from a choke chain & does he wear one? Or, if your dog got bitten in the neck, sudden hyperextension of the neck might be the causes. In a nutshell stretching/tearing the salivary gland/duct that drains saliva from the gland to the mouth. A lot of dogs will have like under the jowls a size of a lemon bump.

You mentioned your pup like to play with sticks, any splinter or piece of rope in the teeth according to your vet?

Is your vet experienced with bulldogs? If not, I would definitely get a second opinion.
