Today I lost the best job I ever had. I'd been working there one year as of yesterday and today I got laid off. I am getting a decent severance package and am on recall status but it still saddens me. My company is struggling and several other people got the axe today too.

Anyway... I'm going to spend tonight cuddling with Herschel and eating copious amounts of ice cream.

Oh no...I'm sorry to hear that. At least you got a severance package though, It would be worse to have nothing to live off of. Herschel will cheer you up (ice cream doesn't hurt either!)

I'm sorry to hear that...I got laid off from my dream job in 2010 and I know it's hard and heartbreaking.
Hopefully something bigger and better will come along for you.

I came home and filed my unemployment immediately. I am looking into working as a poker dealer again since a little casino opened near me. I enjoyed that work. Just doubt the benefits will be nearly as good.

Apparently Herschel thinks extremely loud snoring is the best thing for mommy right now. Funny thing is he might just be right lol.

I'm so sorry..been through this myself and it's so tough mentally as well as financially. Try to stay positive and good for you on getting right out there and looking. I'll be waiting for better news.

Sorry you lost your job...gonna cross my fingers, toes and eyes you find another one soon! But on the bright side...what kind of ice cream are you going to have? Rainbow sherbet, coconut pineapple, rocky road, chocolate chip mint? The possibilities are endless. When I was a kid my mom and sister use to take me to get ice cream when it was just a nickle a scoop.
