    Re: FSA vs.raw food

Ridiculous, they should just put warnings on for dog owners with an immunocomprimised family member to avoid.
  2. Be Careful Which CBD product you pick for your dog

Just read an article that interviewed Jason Cranford owner of South Park Farma cannabis company and founder of the H.O.P.E. foundation. He asserts that 70 percent of CBD products he had tested were...
  3. Re: Skin issue? Hair loss on arms and legs only?

Nexgard which is normally used for fleas and ticks kills mange quite well, so you may want to try using it monthly for at least 3 months if you're not already using a similar product from the same...

    Re: Sporadic Eating

Agree with above- also don't get into habit of putting topper on their dog food, because then they will never eat the food without one. Try to find a brand they will like, because some brands taste...

  9. Re: Interesting article on raw feeding- why precautions needed

I would say the Finnish raw food studies in the video are much more detailed than a controlled feeding trial. AAFCO guidelines for a controlled feeding trial means 8 dogs have to be given the dog...
  10. Re: Advise on 7mo old with pneumonia that doesnít seem to be resolving..

I would have started your dog on amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, and if not getting better, put her on BOTH amoxicillin/clavulanic acid or amoxicillin without the clavulanic acid, AND enrofloxacin....

    Re: Spaying

It's great if you can wait until your dog is 1 year of age. Sounds gross, but I had another female dog before who would lick the blood off and there wasn't much mess.
  12. Re: Advise on 7mo old with pneumonia that doesnít seem to be resolving..

Yes, enrofloxacin is a great drug to use with amoxicillin/clavulanic acid for aspiration pneumonia, but like any quinolone class antibiotic can cause tendon and cartilage problems during periods of...
  13. Re: Advise on 7mo old with pneumonia that doesnít seem to be resolving..

Sorry to hear what's been happening. The antibiotics were stopped too soon, it's usually necessary to treat for 4-6 weeks. Usual oral antibiotic is amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.

    Hopefully you're...
  14. Re: Interesting article on raw feeding- why precautions needed

I use locally sourced frozen raw dog food which doesn't come HPP processed, but if I had someone in the house who was severely immunocompromised ( eg. transplant patient ) I would switch to HPP...
  15. Re: Interesting article on raw feeding- why precautions needed

I never eat raw seafood and have started limiting my consumption of even cooked seafood because of the horrible conditions that these farmed crustaceans are grown in.

    It's crazy how the farmers...

  18. Interesting article on raw feeding- why precautions needed

Just read this article on the resistant bacteria in the raw food we feed our dogs. I'm committed to raw feeding because of my dog's allergies, but it's interesting that one of the studies mentioned...

So sorry to hear about your dog. I'm just wondering if as a last ditch attempt you could try giving her some pain meds like CBD oil, movoflex, turmeric, and maybe gabapentin and tramadol which need a...

    URGENT!!! Re: RECALL AGAIN!!!

Just read another story about chronic wasting disease on a deer farm in Quebec, and that herd still allowed to enter the food chain. That's why I never feed venison to my dog, even though there's no...
  22. Re: Dudley has taken being scared to the next level!

I love that video !!!! I normally have a very difficult time getting my dog to take a walk, as she sits down on the walk and doesn't move, so I end up lifting hard on the harness to pull her front...
