Tutorial: About Points, Bully Bucks & The Bulldog Market

We are very excited to bring on this new feature to our members of the community!

You will now be rewarded for many things you do here on English Bulldog News. You will accumulate points for many things, and these points will be converted into "Bully Bucks" that you can spend at "The Bulldog Market".



To begin, you may have noticed items on some of our users posts. Happy faces, coffee, beer, ect. These are gifts you can purchase for yourself or another user using your points/Bully Bucks.

Notice how my user title "Administrator" is in Blue in my post? I purchased that privledge at The Bully Market.

Next you will see I have a Beer in my post under "My Bully Market Gifts". This is a gift called "Share Beer" at The Bully Market. You could purchase this for a user you want to share a beer with. There are many other gifts available for purchase.

You may also notice some users have Achievements earned on their profiles. These achievements can be earned- but these are also all of the ways to gain Bully Bucks!

Now lets explain more about points, how you earn them, and where you can track your points.




At the top of any forum pages you will see a Navigation Tab that says "Features". Under this tab you will find the link to the Bully Market. But first let's tell you how you earn Bully Bucks.







Click on the Achievements Link.


Here you can see all available Achievements. Each achievement has a special "Title" that corresponds with what the achievement is for. Can you collect them all? It will take a minimum of one year to get all of them!

• Achievements: Here you can see all recently earned achievements by our members.
• Ranking: Here you will see rankings of all users based upon their activity.
• Activity Feed: Here you will see all the recently earned points for all members.
• Leaderboards: Shows which users have the most of each possible point item. This is a great place to see what things you can do to gain more points.

Now let's visit The Bully Market. Under the "Features" drop down tab, click "The Bully Market". Here is where you can spend your hard earned Bully Bucks!

At the very top left you will see your "Bully Bucks".

Your left pane shows all the different areas of The Bully Market. I will give a small detail on each area.


User Title: Here you can purchase upgrades to your user title

• User Title Color: This will change the color of your user title.
• User Title Glow: This will put a glow around your user title. Note that 'glow' cannot be seen on some browsers. But it can be seen on Firefox.

Forum Permissions: Create a forum here at English Bulldog News of your very own.


Username: Here you can upgrade or make changes to your username.

• Change your username: Wish you would have registered with a different username? You can change your username by purchasing this option. Note you will need to log in with your new username.
• Username Color: This will change the color of your username.
• Username Glow: This will put a glow around your username. Note that 'glow' cannot be seen on some browsers. But it can be seen on Firefox.

Other Users: Here you can purchase things for other users.

• Give a Gift: Choose from a large selection of gifts to give to another user. These gifts will show up in the user's post & profile for one year, or until the receive more gifts that can be seen.
• Donate to Another User: Use this option to donate some of your bully bucks to another user. Ban together to get higher priced forum items. Note that the user purchasing the item will receive the award and notification on donations.

Posts: Get posting upgrades.

• Post Font Color: Use this upgrade to make all of your posts in a different color than black.
• Post Font Face: Use this upgrade to change the font of all of your posts to a different font.
• Post Font Italics: Use this upgrade to make all of our posts show up in italics

Threads: Get thread upgrades.

• Sticky a Thread: Want your topic to stay on the first page of the forum? You can purchase this option to stick your thread to the front page. It will also show up on all forum pages as well.
• Color a Thread: Change the color of your thread on the board so it stands out over the others!
• Thread Strikethrough: Add Strikethough to a thread title on the forum.

Store Items: These are real items you can purchase that are not forum related. We will be adding more real items in the future, so keep on gaining points! Now getting Coupons, Items & other stuff for free couldn't be easier than having fun and sharing at English Bulldog News!

ha! thats cool, but one more question, I repurchased a new user title color and glow color and its perfect but I also purchased the username color and glow and it is not working?? Sometimes my username color will show but not the glow and sometimes its just brown. I am using Mozilla too so Im confused cuz like I said the color and glow are working on my user title......any help is appreciated

@desertskybulldogs I posted that a while back. Its been working fine. Seemed like it was only the first day or so after I purchased the glow that sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. It's all good now

Ohhhh dear @desertskybulldogs..I am embarrassed..but I can't find feature drop down menu..been looking everywhere..I am so sorry for being a dweeb...I am on iPad..that shouldn't matter..right? Eeeeeek

I just double checked for the 100th time! Headings in example..say articles..features..lounges..mine says articles and then white search area..hmmm. I am going on pc to check. I am going crazeeeeeeee!

What do I need to do to purchase Username "Glow" Do you have to be a certain level or achievement. This is what I get when I click on Username. Any help would be appreciated.
