Bully Bootie Duty
took the two kittens and odie to their new homes :)
after sifting through MANY applications, checking vet references, doing home visits, i selected a home for the two kittens that i rescued and another home for odie-the chiweenie rescue dog. even though the kittens were still very young and could've easily been placed in separate homes, i was glad they were able to be placed together, as they had developed quite a bond.
the kittens are adapting very well to their new home and romping, climbing, and bouncing around everywhere they're scheduled to be returned to me in two months to undergo their spay/neuter surgeries and will be returned.
odie, now named linus, is already overjoyed at his new home and being spoiled ROTTEN. he is a chiweenie that had been surrended to my vet with parvo. my vet knows i'm a sucker and had no room in his own home and asked me to foster/rehome him and i agreed. he was, without a doubt, the most cuddly dog i've ever encountered. you never know what you're going to get with a new dog. you don't know what they've been through, what their experiences, fears, etc are. but this guy was just HAPPY to be alive. not hyper, just happy--and wanted to be with YOU.
when i shut the front door to the home i had delivered odie to, i heard the wife squeal with joy.
it's heartwarming when things end so well. to have had the honor of taking an active role in saving an animals life and helping secure him/her a happy future-and offering their human a wonderful companion in return.
it doesn't always end so well for sooo many animals. it was refreshing to have the images of the faces of all the animals in shelters and on death's door replaced by the joy of a new and forever bond made by animal and human--if only for a moment.
just wanted to share and wasn't sure where it should go
