Today we say goodbye :(

In a few hours we say goodbye to my sweet Babie. I know I'm doing the right thing, but it doesn't make my heart ache any less. I took everyone's advice and took pictures and videos this last week. We went to the lake on Saturday and then to the Saguaro National Park on Monday. Two places she has always gone from the day we brought her home until a few years ago when I moved back to my home in Cincinnati. On one hand I wish I was still in Ohio, so I could take comfort in being with my family. On the other hand, I'm happy that B got to come back to her home in Arizona. We had one more summer of chasing lizards and lounging in the bright desert sun. She was able to see my ex a few times and get some love.This is the saddest day I have ever experienced, saying goodbye is never easy. I'm at peace with my decision, I can't stand to watch her suffer. I see the pain she is in and she's lost so much weight. I'm happy that I got Guinevere when I did, she will help me through this hard time. How can you not smile and laugh when there is a silly puppy to watch!

Loss is painful, so painful...no wonder we dread it so. Take some comfort in
knowing Babie had a wonderful life in your care and that, even now...you've
never failed her.

My cat, CoCo...who came to me as a dying little kitten and at 4 months at a new
Vet's office was told, she wouldn't have a long life...is 13 y/o and going strong.

No one believes she's that age and other than getting all her shots & spayed,
she's never been back to the Vet's...too healthy! Anyways, I'm knowing her days
are shorter rather than longer and trying to prepare myself...but really...I don't
think we can.
