My Ideal Home: Meet Gwendolyn, aka Gwen, Gwennie, when she arrived she was pretty skinny and in rough shape. She gets around pretty well, but looks like she may have sustained injury to her front legs in the past, or lived in a too-small crate; it affects her gait slightly. We're giving her joint supplements and probiotics to help. She is a blanket eater so her family will need to watch her like a hawk, because she seems obsessed with blankets, socks, leggings. She is healing from what look like bite marks on her face and neck, her teeth are ground down to the nubs, and she was overbred to the point where her lady-bits were sagging along with her lil boobies. Her dentition may need attention in the near future.
We have been working on building confidence and getting her healthy. She has come pretty far in a short amount of time. Gwennie loves to play with other dogs and toys, although she doesn't like to share, she will, but gives a little warning growl if the other dogs get too close. No aggressive behaviors other than just the little warning growl. She is very submissive and sweet. She does pay attention to small prey and will chase if given the opportunity, so a fence will be required for this little rabbit hunter. She sleeps in our bed with the other dogs. She is potty trained, but doesn't clearly indicate she needs to go, she'll just get up an walk to the door. We limit her water at night, because she will drink the whole bowl and have to potty in the middle of the night. She is crate trained. She does well in the bath, although she is scared, she behaves well. She is so loving and wants nothing more than to cuddle up next to you and snooze. Her ideal family will be loving, calm, and exhibit a lot of patience. They will help her stretch her joints with long walks. They will cuddle up with her on the couch and give her lots of healthy snacks. She is possibly the sweetest foster we've ever had.
