Please meet Morty! He is a 3 year old, 65 pound white piebald English Bulldog. Morty came to BBR from a shelter, so we donā€™t know much about his history. When he came into our care, he was suffering from some pretty bad allergies and hair loss, but his foster mom has been taking great care of him. He is now looking for his forever home!

Morty is a total sweetheart! He is very affectionate, and likes attention, and wants to be with you all the time. Morty is not very spatially aware (as far as his body size), so he knocks things over unintentionally and will step on feet. He loves to play fetch and chew on his toys, though he sometimes gets possessive of his toys. Morty does need to be watched closely with chew toys because he will swallow them, or growl/snap at you if you try to get it out of his mouth. Due to this, he will need to go to a home with children 12 years and older. Morty does well with other dogs.

Morty is very well behaved. He knows several commands, such as sit, down, and do you need to potty. He is crate trained, but is fine being gated in the kitchen for the day. Morty usually sleeps on the couch or in your bed, but is fine sleeping in his crate as well. He has had no accidents in his foster home. Morty is not destructive, but is curious in nature; he likes to explore with his nose. He seems eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement, as well as being told no. Morty does need to work on not jumping on people to greet them, or when excited. He also needs work on his leash walking skills.

Because of Mortyā€™s allergies, he will need to be on a grain-free diet. He was switched to a Venison-based food to help, and his diet is being supplemented with green beans to help him get to a healthier weight. Morty is taking Benadryl for his allergies, and melatonin to help his hair grow back. He also gets a coconut oil rubdown on his bald patches, as well as taking coconut oil orally to help with dry skin. Mort is not food aggressive at all; he is so passive that he will move out of the way if another dog tries to eat his food. Mort is fine with nail trimming, although we used a 2 person technique to get him used to the idea. He is ok with ear cleaning, and tolerates face cleaning with some coaxing.

Update: Great news! I've been ADOPTED!!!
