  • Well your breeder seems like a really nice person... We had Winston and his Momma Bella and he was humping her, that's one of the reason's we wanted to have her spayed, plus she was 5 years old and I was worried about complications from that. It was a horrible experience, and it makes me nervous to even think about any surgery for Winston!!!
We haven't made a decision about Winston either... I'm a nervous wreck just thinking about it!!! :*(
You did the best you could- what you thought it was right, it's definitely not your fault. You would think that in an Emergency Hospital they would be able to give him the best help. Unfortunately we don't have control on things like that, since we are not properly trained, we like to believe that the professionals are doing the best they can.
Lola had a failed cherry eye surgery where they did something wrong with the anesthesia too and she was very sick - it was done at a veterinarian, then we went to an eye specialist and we made sure they had EB experience and things went more smoothly.
We currently have a 4 week old kitten in intensive care at an emergency hospital with aspiration pneumonia. We can only pray that they are going to be able to save him and make the right decisions.

    Hang in there. :assurred:
Please do not blame yourself... you took very good care and did what was right at that time.... decisions had to be made to help him walk. Please focus on the good/great memories you have with your sweet Angus it is what I do and how I get by each day --- Nitschke was/is my heart and I ache for him each and every day, but I know i did all I could to keep him happy and healthy!
I can't imagine the sadness you must be feeling from your loss.
May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.:*(
I am so very, very sorry for the lose of your sweet boy. My heart aches for you... please know he is ALWAYS with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you
The Pork and Peas is brand new flavor from Fromm... it has only been out a month. When I tell you, I was dancing in the aisle... that is NOT an exaggeration!! The girl at the store was hysterical and looking at me like I was insane (OK, I might be) but, to have no chicken, no grains and no white potatoes.... it is a dream mix for my Banksy!! Cancer in canines is very real Kazzy220, lost her angel baby Maggie right about a year ago to lymphoma. As for the heart, yes that too is real, surgery or not, I lost my sweet boy Nistchke to heart failure 18 months ago. OK, so I am not telling you any of this to upset you, but want you to know and you will see many, many times written on this forum - 'No one knows your baby like you do'. If your gut ever tells you something isn't right and others are saying 'there is nothing wrong'... you stick to your gut.ā€‹

I found this article on Atopica... interesting read on dogsnaturallymagazine.com atopica/dogs

I am happy to hear he is improving... keep me posted and I hope/pray he continues to progress. Did you go with the Nature's Logic or stay with the Cali Natural?
I actually am in the process of switching Banks over to Fromm Pork and Peas -- there are no grains or white potatoes, two weeks in and she is doing well so far.
These Bully babies.... food is the hardest part, findig the right one is such a long road. Even thought your vet said most are not allergic to grains, a lot of Bulldogs have issue with them. My boy, Nitschke was highly allergic to rice... threw up contantly, soft stool and the cysts between his toes... once I got rice out of his diet... he was set. My girl, Banks is allergic to chicken and salmon. If Nature's logic has a grain free line you may want to try that one next.
My husband had an English Bulldog when he was young. We lived abroad for 34 years, mostly in hot areas, the weather was not good for any pets with fur, therefore, we decided to have our first pet when we moved back to the States, and it has to be an English Bulldog. We spent a long time searching for his first dog's blood line, finally, we found it. Since Bulldog doesn't have a lot of puppies, the bloodline was almost finished, so we decided to have a good-looking one instead of following the bloodline. We finally found the father of Angus in a dog show.
For me, I used to be afraid of dogs, it took us a long time to decide to have Angus, it's a commitment. Once I saw Angus, I fell in love, he changes my life and still does. He always stays under my desk when I'm working day or night, I move he moves. I love to hear him snoring, it keeps me company. Now, he is still here under my feet and snoring. :D
