  • YAY!!!! Thrilled Benedict is fine and I know you are too. Sounds as if you have a great vet, I love when they take the time to explain and show us what is going on.
    Have an awesome day
This happened a couple of months ago to our puppy, he had a small crack in his growth plate, typically this requires surgery as without surgery it can lead to permanent damage and deformity if not corrected, the only way to know for sure is by Xray, I think you should call your vet ASAP, get an xray, if the vet can't determine if it is a growth plate crack/fracture, then see a surgical specialist who can tell. We were lucky, Thatcher's crack was so minimal that surgery was not needed, he was on pain med's for a few days and stopped limping within a week. Limit your dogs activity, no stairs, no jumping, etc...... but please get an X-ray.
    Best wishes
Becky, thank you for the warm welcome, I'm super glad I found your group I have new mother syndrome. LOL
