  • Yup! You can buy them with the leg and thigh attached to each other. If you can't find them that way, I would buy whole chickens (they go on sale here all the time to less than 99 cents a lb.) and cut the leg/thigh portion off then save the rest until you are comfortable feeding it or need more bone. Just be sure to check the sodium content!
Really, to start it is easy. Chicken only for the first few weeks. Watch her poop and after a few days if it is runny, add more bone. If it is too hard, decrease bone. Don't worry if she doesn't poop the first day or only once or twice. Feed about 2% of their projected adult weight and if she doesn't eat it all, don't worry. Get a good digital scale and portion it out into freezer bags. Take the next day's food out and put it in the fridge at night so it will thaw by morning. I started with chicken leg quarters because they are bigger and they can't fit the whole thing in their mouth. If she is a gobbler, watch her closely and remove it when it is small enough to be a choking hazard. Backs are good but I stayed away from wings (too easy to choke on). Thighs are fine if they are large. I had to score the skin at first so that they could learn how to get through it. Some have more success just pulling the skin off and possibly feeding it later.
My favorite (besides the raw section here) is rawfeeding on yahoo groups. They are great. There is also a rawpuppies (or something along those lines). The puppy one is an offshoot of the rawfeeding group. There is also a Canadian one that is good. It is CNRS which is Canadian Natural Rearing Support Group. Good luck and I am glad you went RAW!

All of the Tutorials are under "Forum". Click on the forum that says Tutorials for new members.
Reply right here??? Sorry I just don't see where.....I already downloaded my picture to photobucket so that I can insert it. IMO it would be much easier if you could go to the link where it states photo contest and then insert the picture. I have been having an awful time navigating this site. sorry it's probably me but I don't go on here as much as Bulldogworld because I just spend too much time trying to figure things out. )-:
Just reply with your photo on the photo of the month topic. There is 3-4 pix entered now so far. :)
A mention is when someone mentions you in a topic, they will put @roanne9145 and it will notify you that you have been mentioned in a topic.
Hi Roanne, you can upload your banner and insert it into your 'signature'. Let me know if you need any further assistance :)

Roanne, these are visitor messages. When someone visits your profile, they will see anything posted here. Similar to it being your "Wall" on facebook, except these do not go into a 'feed'. So here is where you may talk about your website and your BEAUTIFUL puppies! :D

Can I say "Welcome Back?" (hug)
