Yes central Texas is hot and dry. You guys really need the rain worse than we do. We are hot and dry here in the Houston area too, need rain. Thank goodness for air conditioning, haha. My bullies like to stay outside to sun, but only let them out at short periods of time or in the mornings when its a little cooler, if 78 is cooler, but better than 100. :)
@desertskybulldogs.....I went by Costco yesterday and I saw one brand that was grain free. They had two bags. One was red and the other blue. I think it had a picture of a wolf on it. One was salmon and sweet potato and the other was turkey and sweet potato I think. The only other brand was the Kirkland brand but I think that one was not grain free. Meilyr is also shedding a lot right now but it seems that April and October are their bigging shedding months. Hello, its May.....when will it end? Ha, never I know. My poor Meilyr looks hungover sometimes with his red eyes but he doesn't scratch at them or have much eye goobers. I probably have more eye goobers than him.

@desertskybulldogs and wlw9x....have either of you fed raw eggs in their food. My friend was using that to try and control her dogs shedding. She has a lab mix with sharpei and great dane. Beautiful dog.
I am not done with the trial, I like to do a full two bags. We are almost done with the first bag right now.

So far, some minor tear staining and random runny :poo:, nothing I did not expect. Mandy is shedding a ton but not sure if that is the food, she sheds a lot anyway :p Yuna keeps getting yeast in her nose rope even after I get it cleared up, it just keeps coming back. This I am blaming the food for  So overall, not a bad food, but it does make the bullies harder to take care of. I just hope it does not get worse. I will post before/after pics maybe if I remember.....
I was just reading your visitor messages. Even the Costco grain free brand should be a HUGE improvement from Pedigree, and may be a good stepping stone for your bully. You can always try Fromm or something later :) I forget the name of the costco one, and I finally just threw the bag away. It is a white bag, and it says grain free on it. Even tho you don't see any issues you may be surprised once you change food. If you switch VERY slowly you should have no issues, over a course of a week. You may get some gas or poopies during the transition.
Hey thanks for the advise. I've seen that a lot of people have recommended Fromms. I may look into it. Thanks. What a pretty girl Katie is.
    Hey Laura,
I am in the process of changing my Katie's food now because of advice I've gotten from this site. We are switching her from Petsmart's Authority brand to Fromm's Four Star Nutritionals Pork & Applesauce flavor. I have been told it will help the gas situation. As far as the eyes, the vet gave us some gel like stuff to put in her eyes twice a day to reduce redness. I'm not sure what it's called, but the brand is Baush & Lomb (sp?) I hope our food change brings good results, but just gotta wait and see! Welcome to the site. :)
I'm currently considering changing my buillies food. I know Pedigree is by no means a great food but he's been doing good on it. No allergies, itching, swelling or terrible smell like I've been hearing. The only thing he occasionally has is gas and red irritate eyes. He has normal poopy, 2 or 3 times a day. So I'm kind of scared of rocking the boat and making him sick for just the sake of changing to a better quality food. If anyone can help me out I really would appreciate it. Thanks.
