Hi there! well, it sounds like you have been trying so hard to clear up Louie's tail infection. I assume he has been thru rounds of antibiotics and steroids in the past? I have a bully (Finn) who had his tail amputated in January d/t frequent infections. He was on several rounds of steroids and abx and his vet suggested the amputation. It really was the best thing for him as he's doing so well now and not bothered by his painful tail pocket woes. I'd like you to post your situation on the health section to see what other members can offer as far as feedback. There are several members who have had success with not going thru amputation and they will be able to give you their experiences better than I personally can. I'm really glad you've joined the forum as we look forward to hearing about Louie and want to help him and you!
