This beautiful girl's new life started last week when she was brought to a local shelter. The owner requested she be euthanized, but the loving shelter staff had other plans which included New Orleans Bulldog Rescue!
Poppy has had a rough go as you can see. We can't comment too much because charges may be filed against the owner, but needless to say she is incredibly appreciative of love and attention. We expect her back will heal over time, as well as the psychological toll of neglect. Poppy moves a bit slower than our other adoptables (which may also change as she heals), but she somehow still trusts people and is very loving and affectionate. She would do well in most any home, but not with young children who may grab her since she isn't feeling 100% (yet). Dogs have a knack for living in the moment, and Poppy is excited to put her past behind her and start anew.
