Adoption fee: $350Please welcome Edgar to IBR! This sweet boy was found as a stray and taken to an Indiana shelter. The shelter then contacted the owner and they surrendered him.While we always like a good reunion story, we think that landing in rescue might be the best thing that has happened to Edgar in quite some time. This boy is incredibly thin, intact, seemingly unaware of life inside a real life home .. and he’s heartworm positive. So, he is going to be with us for awhile as gets settled, healthy and goes through heartworm treatment. Heartworm treatment is long, painful and risky. Edgar will need to be kept very calm for months after each treatment to ensure that the dying worms don’t travel too quickly in his body and kill him.We are excited about Edgar’s next chapter and look forward to watching him grow, get healthy, and learn about the way his life always should have been!
