Poor Willis was surrendered to IBR because his family was no longer able to care for him .. and we are glad that they did because this sweet boy needs some major TLC. He is incredibly overweight. He also has eye, skin and ear issues which will require treatment. Heā€™s only been with us a few days but he is settling in nicely with his incredible foster family.
Foster Family: We call him Big Willy or just Big boy. He is a very sweet boy that loves attention. His favorite item is his cot, which he loves to snooze on all day. Willy also enjoys his blanket covered crate. He has no problem sleeping away the day while we are at work. We love this big boy and look forward to many happy days to come.
Foster Family update 2: Willis is still losing weight. His demeanor continues to change for the better. Heā€™s more active and happy to be feeling better. Everyday we see more personality. This big tub of love is more like a teddy bear than a dog.
Foster Family update 3: Just back from a follow up vet visit. Things are looking good. Willis has lost 9 lbs from his biggest of 92 six months ago. Another round of antibiotics to continue to clear up his skin and ears. Willis is truly a very well mannered dog. He doesnā€™t bark, whine or growl. When its time to go in his crate or outside only a nudge is needed to get him moving. Heā€™s most certainly not a watch dog and for his size he really doesnā€™t eat much. Less than 2 cups a day. He also doesnā€™t chew on things or make messes. Willis just seems happy to be here. Finally, we havenā€™t tested him with cats, but I would be shocked if he cared either way. If your looking for a very easy going, lazy bully who will fit in with almost any family he is the one for you.ey.
