BIO:

Lola has settled in nicely to her foster home with three fur siblings. She is a very sweet, docile girl that has had a pretty rough beginning to life. It's apparent from her initial condition Lola was used for breeding. She was quite thin and very skittish to human touch.

Lola has blossomed in just a few short weeks. She gets along very well with the other dogs and seems completely unbothered by the boisterous children in the home. She listens very well, doesn't climb on furniture, never barks at anything, is fully house and crate trained and overall a great little girl.

Lola is up to date on her vaccines, has been spayed and is on her way to putting on a few pounds. She loves her food. So much so, she needs to be either fed alone or monitored very carefully when fed near other animals. It is not uncommon for a dog with a rough past to defend their food, but it is something that could get better as time progresses and she understands she no longer has to fear hunger.

Lola loves to cuddle but needs to feel safe to approach her human. She will tuck her head down as a sign of her passiveness and submission, but after a short while she trusts easily. She would make a great addition to any home.

AUGUST UPDATE: Lola has now been in her foster home a little over a month and her true personality is really showing. She is very timid and can be quite fearful. She doesn't like brooms, mops or vacuums and will run to hide if she sees one.

Lola has been aggressive towards one of her bullie foster sisters a couple of times recently. This foster sister cannot see well, but Lola doesn't seem to understand when her sister bumps into her or attempts to enter her crate it's not a sign of aggression. Lola's reaction is out of fear for her space and safety, not due to being an aggressive, mean girl.

Lola really needs an experienced home with a family that understands she had a very rough start to life and things most dogs understand, she does not.

Lola is housebroken but hasn't been taught to 'alert' her people when she needs to go out, so she will have an occasional accident. Her perfect family would be someone that is home all day, but Lola is crate trained and will not potty in her crate. In fact, she adores her crate so much, her foster mom will lure her out with a treat and close it off in order to get Lola to interact with the family. She is great with children of all ages and approaches them very kindly.

Lola understands toys but doesn't play with them often. She prefers to hoard them in her crate to ensure they are hers for later, if she so chooses to play. Her preference is always the Nylabones available to her.

Lola is a really great girl that will need some understanding and patience. She adores all people and will make a great companion for the right family.

Please consider sponsoring Lola's care while she's in rescue. If you are interested in adding Lola to your family, please mention her by name when filling about an adoption application.
