BIO:

Blue is a sweet bullie girl who knows her basic commands, walks well on a leash, stays in her crate while her foster mom is at work, is house trained and loves people! She enjoys going outside for walks and is very curious about her surroundings. Inside her foster home she doesn't play with toys much but does like to chew on bones. She has not chewed anything that she shouldn't either.

Blue has a pancreas condition which requires a powdered medication to be added to her food before she eats, so that her body will absorb the nutrients. As long as she has the powder on her food for her twice daily feedings she is fine and an otherwise normal bullie girl. Her maintenance and care routine is the same as other bulldogs, with regular face, ear and tail pocket cleanings.

Part of the reason Blue was surrendered to IBR was dominance issues with a bullie sibling in her previous home. Although she is a dominant female, she has accepted one of her foster brothers, who is of similar size and very submissive, and allows him to follow her around if he wants to. Her other foster brother is a large, dominant male bullie who so far she does not care for. They have only met through a gate, and she will bark at him if a person is around but ignore him if no one else is visible.

Blue would love to have a home where she is the center of attention. She loves to be petted and be with her people. She may accept a fur sibling, but she would definitely have to meet them first and it may take awhile for her to adjust.

APRIL UPDATE: Blue has settled in nicely, with no destructive behavior at all. Her energy level has increased a bit as she knows what her routine is and is always anxious to go outside. She has been getting some medical shampoo baths to help with itchy skin, but is doing well with them.

Blue makes herself at home hanging out with her foster mom and is happy to lay on her bed and watch for activity through her window. She has accepted one of her foster brothers but would be more than happy to be an only dog as well.

Please consider sponsoring Blue's vet care while she is in rescue. If you're interested in adopting Blue, please mention her by name when filling out an adoption application.
