BIO:

Roofus was very timid for the first few days in his foster home, but his personality has gradually started to emerge. He is a very mellow boy that pretty much just goes with the flow and likes to be in the same room as his people. He is submissive to the other dogs in the household, although he does not like if they try to share his food.

Roofus is fearful of children of all ages. He is learning to ignore the neighborhood children on his walks, but his adoptive family will need to be adults only and care will need to be taken to limit his exposure to children, especially small children who may not understand and heed his "hands off" warning.

Roofus is crate trained and will go lie in or near his crate when he feels tired or stressed. He walks well on a leash and his absolute favorite treat is CHEESE of any flavor!

DECEMBER UPDATE: Roofus is an adorable, happy, healthy little bullie boy, who unfortunately had a less than adorable beginning in life. He was originally rescued from a home where he was severely neglected/abused in his early life. We will never know the full extent of what he endured, but he still has a zest for life.

Roofus loves to be near his people, enjoys bones filled with peanut butter and does a silly little dance at meal time and when he knows he is about to get a treat. However, sudden movements can bring back memories of his previous life, kind of like PTSD in people.

Roofus needs a family who can understand that 99% of the time he is a happy little boy, but occasionally something will trigger a flashback. He is not a fan of feet being thrust toward him, children of any age or being forced to go somewhere he doesn't want to go. However, he is perfectly content with sitting or lying near your feet, calm adults or going for walks.

Sweet talk and patience will go a long way toward making Roofus your best friend and lifelong partner!
