Buffy comes to IBR by way of a good samaritan who took her in and helped her get some immediate veterinary care, as she had been living for quite some time with a large 4 pound tumor in her belly/rear leg area. Buffy's rescue angel took care of her veterinary/surgical needs and then asked IBR to find her a loving, forever home.

Now that she is feeling better, Buffy is settling in to foster life. She is pretty low energy, but does enjoy short daily walks. Her favorite thing to do is sleep in her own bed wherever her foster mom puts it.

Buffy gets along well with her foster fur siblings, although she doesn't really understand their attempts to play with her yet. She loves snuggle time with her humans. She is also crate and house trained.

Because of her tumor removal, Buffy has a pocket of skin on her belly that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis (just wiped like her face wrinkles). She has been extremely good about having this done and likes her belly rub time. She also will require monthly abdominal palpitations to check for any further growths or lumps, for the rest of her life. She will also need to have some dental work done before she is ready for adoption.

NOVEMBER UPDATE: Buffy is loving life with her foster family. She enjoys being part of all the family activities. Her favorite thing is cuddling up in bed with the teenage son in the house at bedtime, where she will gladly sleep the entire night. She is completely house trained and is very good about letting her family know when she needs to go out to potty.

Buffy attended her first IBR event last month and was a true bulldog, greeting everyone she met with wiggles and slobbery licks. She does great with children of all ages, even those in strollers. She also seems unconcerned with cats when meeting them at the vet's office or out on walks. She enjoys playing with her two fur siblings, but is content to lay around and watch their antics too.

Buffy now has clean teeth too! She had a thorough dental exam and cleaning last month!
