[FONT="]Bette is sweet, loving and at 56 lbs thinks she is a lap dog. She is well-mannered, knows the commands “Sit,” “Down,” “Stay” and “Shake” and she walks well with her harness. One unique thing about her is that her left eye is partially blue.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Bette is current on all vaccinations, micro chipped and spayed. She will need to continue having eye drops in her eyes to treat dry eye, and she will also require two ointments to be applied three times a day moving forward. Due to her eye issues, she may have some partial vision loss. She also is on joint supplements for a luxating patella in her left leg, but she has not had any trouble with it since coming in to rescue.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Although she has wonderful qualities, Bette does have unpredictable dog aggression and has a bite history with other dogs. Her foster mom always has a harness on Bette for walks. If Bette does see other dogs on walks, she mostly just looks at them and continues on her way. On a few occasions, she has stopped, growled or barked. However, her foster mom is easily able redirect her attention and continue on.[/FONT]
[FONT="]In the 2 years that Bette has been with IBR, she has only had one encounter with another dog. A neighbor was near the property line when Bette was out. It was dark and the neighbor and his dog were new to Bette. There were no injuries.[/FONT]
[FONT="]While she doesn’t get along with other dogs, Bette is a very sweet girl that gets along with every human she meets. Bette will be a wonderful addition to the right family.[/FONT]Welcome Bette to IBR!
