Gretel is a beautiful bullie girl who came to IBR with her sister, Roxie, who she has lived with for the last 5 years. She is a sweet girl who loves attention. Her foster mom is working to get to know her and determine if she and Roxie are bonded and have to be adopted together.
In a calm environment or in her foster mom's home, Gretel does well with other dogs. She has never been around cats, but when she has seen them outside she is not interested. She is house and crate trained and doesn't show much interest in toys.
Gretel's foster mom is working with her on manners, basic commands and how to walk on a leash properly. Given her lack of training and socialization, she needs a home with older kids who understand bulldogs.
Check back regularly for more information as Gretel's foster mom get's to know her better!
JUNE UPDATE: Gretel is a happy and healthy girl. She has recovered from her spay just fine and is ready for her forever home! After a month with her foster mom, it has been determined that Gretel is not bonded with her sister Roxie, athey can be adopted together but do not have to be.
Unfortunately, Roxie is the only other dog Gretel seems to get along with. Gretel needs a home with no other dogs or cats. She is sweet to every person she meets, but is a little diva and wants all of the attention for herself.
Gretel is crate and house trained and is generally low energy. She enjoys short walks in the morning when it's cool. She has a little weight to lose, which makes walks in the summer heat pretty difficult on her. She also is not a fan of storms or loud noises, but her fears are manageable.
Gretel, or "Gretty" as her foster mom calls her, will make a perfect addition to the right home.
If you'd like to adopt Gretel when she's ready, please mention her name when filling out an adoption application. She will also need to be vetted, so please consider sponsoring her care while in rescue.
