BIO:

Pixie is a breeder release that came to IBR via Illinois English Bulldog Rescue on Valentine's Day. Pixie is one of the sweetest bullies ever. She loves being massaged and cuddled and she also gives some of the best bullie kisses. Even though she is 5 years old, she will play like a puppy. Her foster mom thinks that since she was a breeder girl and therefore didn't enjoy puppyhood she has regressed and is now enjoying the puppy years.

Because she is a breeder release, Pixie will need to be both housebroken and crate trained. We are working on that and Pixie will potty outside, but does not ask to go out. She is a quick learner though and learned to sit for a treat in less than 10 minutes. Speaking of treats, she loves turkey.

Pixie is somewhat unpredictable around other dogs. She does okay outside with submissive dogs. She will play with them, but she also will mount them. She does become aggressive with those same dogs when indoors. It is for this reason that Pixie shouldl be an only dog. Her foster mom thinks that she deserves to be an only dog so she can be spoiled as well.

JUNE UPDATE: There just aren't enough words to describe how adorable, sweet and loving Pixie is. If her foster mom had known how her personality would develop she would have named this darling girl Sunshine!

Pixie has come a long way in the 4 months since coming into rescue from a puppy mill. In the beginning, she was a scared little girl who was aggressive with her foster fur siblings and terrified of her crate. Fast forward and Pixie can now interact (supervised) with her foster siblings! She still doesn't like to share her toys or food, but she is getting more comfortable around other dogs.

You would never believe Pixie is 5 years old, she acts just like a puppy. She is a clumsy little wiggle butt who often stumbles over her own feet when playing. She is a joy to watch and a joy to have around! She is also a hoarder with a varied collection. If you are missing anything, including keys, tools, paint brushes, the remote, just check Pixie's bed! Odds are really high you'll find it there. She also likes to help with laundry and will gladly take towels out of the dryer (or linen closet). But hey, she had nothing for 5 years, so this little diva in entitled!

Pixie still has a ways to go in the house training department. She wets her crate every night and will go on the floor if she isn't taken out regularly. But she is so worth the work and training!

Although Pixie's socialization skills are improving, she would be happiest as an only dog with slow socialization to other dogs through supervised play dates.

If you are looking for the sweetest, most appreciative bulldog ever, Pixie is your girl! Please mention her by name when you fill out an adoption application.

If you are interested in making Pixie a member of your family, please mention her by name when you fill out an adoption application.
