Casper was saved from being sold on Craigslist by a wonderful lady, who then surrendered him to IBR because she knew we would be the best chance at him getting the care he needs.
Casper is deaf and has had a rough start in life. He's likely never been to a vet. He came in with severe infections in both ears, an infected tail pocket and skin infections in his face folds due to lack of cleaning.
Despite all this, Casper is a sweet, laid back boy who loves everyone and everything. He gets along well with his foster family's other dogs, ignores cats and is good with kids. He loves roaming in the yard with the other dogs and sleeps soundly every night in his crate.
MAY UPDATE: Casper had his double entropian eye surgery and his neuter and has recovered wonderfully from both. His ear, tail pocket and skin infections have cleared up nicely as well. The vet has now pronounced him all clear, medically.
Casper is a very easy-going dog who gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. His energy level is definitely on the low side! He loves spending his days napping in his crate or any soft place. He is completely house and crate trained.
JULY UPDATE: Casper continues to do well in his foster home. However, he is special needs and his forever family is going to have to be understanding of and willing to work with this stubborn, deaf bullie boy. He can be snappy and he uses his mouth to react to situations and express dislike of some things.
In spite of his marshmallow snuggly looks, Casper is not always a cuddler and cannot be forced into it. He does enjoy his alone time in his crate and will come out and mingle when he wants love and attention.
Casper gets along with other dogs and even cats, but he is not much of a "player" so he would not be a great playmate for another dog. But he would enjoy sleeping next to a fur sibling, though!
