Tilly is a shelter pull who came to IBR in very bad condition. Her tail pocket was extremely infected, she had fleas and worms and a very bad ear infection. Because of her condition, she was taken immediately to the vet to receive the care she desperately needed.
After several days of antibiotics at the hospital, Tilly underwent a tail amputation and was spayed. She was also treated for the fleas and worms. Tilly has a hard time breathing and will undergo soft palate reduction on April 11.
As Tilly begins to feel better, more and more of her loving and fun personality have begun to show. She is crate trained and has not had an accident in the house, but she does go #1 in her crate on her bed. Our guess is that Tilly lived outside or spent the majority of her life in a crate.
Tilly is a very sweet girl that shows no aggression to other dogs and wants nothing more than some attention and affection from humans. We think Tilly experienced toys for the first time in her life once she got to her foster home. She really loves her foster brother's antler!
Currently, Tilly seems much happier and in a lot less pain and discomfort. Her activity has been restricted by the vet due to her two procedures. As soon as her third surgery (soft palate reduction) is complete, she will be ready for adoption. Tilly needs a family who will be patient with her potty training and is willing to give her all the love and attention she has missed out on for the first 8 years of her life!
Tilly definitely needs some major sponsors for her medical care. If you think you'd like to give this girl the amazing forever home she deserves and has never had please mention her by name when filling out an adoption application.
