Emma is a very laid back girl that gets a long with everyone. She sleeps in her cage at night and is perfectly quiet about it. She tries to keep up with everyone but prefers to just take a snooze. We are working on mild behavioral issues like begging at the dinner table, sharing attention with other dogs and surrendering her toys easier. But overall, we think she's practically perfect!

Upon Emma's intake into IBR, she had an extreme flea infestation. Because of the fleas, she was in need of an antibiotic for a skin infection. She is recovering well from that already. During her intake exam, there was some concern about her back legs. Radiographs were performed and reveled severe arthritis in her hips. There is still some concern about her knees. If she needs to be sedated to be spayed, the doctor will be able to exam them easier.

Make sure to mention her by name when filling out your adoption application.

DECEMBER UPDATE: Emma loves to go for car rides and go for walks. She also loves to snuggle in the pillows and hang out with the family. She is a chewer and her favorite thing to chew on is a Nylabone. She tends to guard her Nylabones with other dogs, so her foster mom has to make her take a break every now and then.

Emma's skin is looking great! Her veterinarian has prescribed allergy medication for three more months to continue to help her itchiness improve and then plans to try and take her off of the meds.
