Bio:
Zoila was shelter pull that was found as a stray. She came to us timid and quiet, but warmed quickly to each member of the family. She is very much an attention seeker! She loves to cuddle and be pet. She is learning how to play. She loves her chew toys. She hasn't quite warmed up to our other dog, but I do believe that will come with time.

Zoila is very laid back. She is well mannered and loves kids. She does not like to stay outside long. She likes to go out and come right back in. She does enjoy a walk.

Zoila knows the command "Sit", but she doesn not stay well after sitting. We will be working with her on commands. She has taken to eating very well and is always there looking for a bite.

August Update:

Zoila has adapted well. She eventually will be spayed. She is a very laid back bullie, but has bursts of energy! She has begun learning how to play with dog toys, which was very foreign to her to begin with. She loves a good nylabone to chew on and a good bed to fluffy bed to lay on. She is such a sweet girl. She has been introduced to my own bullie and she tolerates him at best. She is a very territorial dog over her humans, bones & beds. Hopefully that will improve b/c at this time I would not recommend a home with another dog. She does not like cats at all.


She does seem to have a bit of a grass allergy. And I have noticed a bump between a couple of her paws. She will need to be spayed before she can be adopted
Sept Update: Zoila is a sweet girl. She is progressing quite well! She has adjusted well to indoor living. She is finally making friends with our own bullie. She has a great temperament. She is wonderful with children and strangers. She begs for your attention. She knows the basic sit command. She has learned to wait patiently for her food. She loves to sun bathe and go for walks. Zoila does not do well with cats. I would recommend a home for her that does not have other pets. I do believe she can do well with another dog, but it will take time & patience.

October Update: Zoila continues to adjust and is a great dog. She does really well with my bullie now. I am still working hard with her to adjust to other dogs. She warms up to other dogs, but it takes a while.

Zoila is great with people and she loves children. She craves constant attention. Zoila does not do well around cats. I would suggest a family without any other animals.

Zoila may be ready for adoption, however I am still working with her and socialization with other dogs.

At her most recent vet visit, it was discovered that Zoila is already spayed. She has also been microchipped.
JANUARY UPDATE: I am very proud to say that Zoila continues to improve around other dogs and is doing really well with her foster fur sibling. She is becoming less territorial over food and toys. Redirection and positive reinforcement is teaching her some manners.

Zoila loves her humans, especially children. She loves to be walked, petted and a good belly rub. She is definitely a positive attention seeker. Just like any bullie loves food. She does have some skin allergies and a recurring hot spot, but they are easily treated. Improvement on her hot spot with hair regrowth by giving her some Coconut Oil daily. Not to mention she LOVES it! Zoila is probably the most accommodating dog her foster mom has ever seen when it comes to cleaning her wrinkles, ears and paws. She just lays down and lets you do what you need to do.

Zoila is ready for adoption, however if she were to be adopted by a family with another dog they will need to be patient and continue to redirect, as she is still learning positive reinforcement. She still tests new dogs, but no longer lunges after them like she did at first. Her foster mom believes she would still do best as an only dog, but she continues to grow and learn with patience.

MARCH UPDATE: Zoila continues to improve around other dogs and is doing really well with her foster fur sibling. She is becoming less territorial over food and toys. Redirection and positive reinforcement is teaching her some manners. Her hotspot has improved quite a bit, but she does have a bad tooth in front that is giving her bad breath and may need to be checked out.

UGUST UPDATE: Zoila's foster family held a party for her in July to celebrate her birthday/rescue day. One new trick she has mastered is to lay down when asked.

NOVEMBER UPDATE: Zoila's foster family continues to work with her on warming up to other dogs. She is getting better but will require constant attention when an unfamiliar dog or other animal is around. Her foster mom continues to feel she would be best as an only dog.

Zoila loves to sleep with the children in her foster home at night. She also loves chew toys and goes through them very quickly. She has learned to wait patiently for her food, but she LOVES food and will look for it in every crevice she can.

DECEMBER UPDATE: Zoila continues to improve around other dogs and is doing really well with her foster fur sibling. She is territorial over food and toys, but with redirection and positive reinforcement she is understanding that she must behave. Her foster mom has noticed huge improvements!
